Outdoors Magazine is excited to announce the addition of Alan Probst as a regular columnist.
Probst, a native of Pennsylvania, has a distinguished outdoors career which includes winning the Sportsman Channel's 2007 Sportsman of the Year award. In addition, he owns Alan Probst Inc. which has produced such highly acclaimed programs as the All Outdoors TV show, the Sportsmens Outdoor Strategies TV show, and the Hlathini Safari's African Adventures show.
Having grown up in a family of sportsmen which traces back to his great-grandfather who was a trapper and lure maker, Probst has been imbedded in the outdoors since he ran his first trapline at the age of seven. As a Bio-Chemistry Fisheries Science major in college, Probst furthered his knowledge of the outdoors world and developed his current philosophies. Foremost among these is "Never take from nature, just take what nature gives you."
Among his other accomplishments, Probst had a ten-year professional baseball career (1992-2001) with the Houston Astros, Toronto Blue Jays, and NY Mets.
Probst will join a talented group of other acclaimed Outdoors Magazine regulars such as The Benoit Brothers, R.G. Bernier, Craig Dougherty, Bob Humphreys, and Bill Cairns. His monthly column for Outdoors will cover hot issues, tactics, and strategies in the outdoors focusing on how they apply to Pennsylvania and the surrounding area.
